Hello All,

Firstly I appreciate that there are a few threads already about the role of a Northern conductor however I have a quick question if anyone would be able to lend me some advice which is not covered in any other threads.

I have undergone the assessment, interview and medical and been successful in securing a place on a training course starting on Monday next week for a Northern Conductor and have an email confirming my start date from the recruitment team however as of yet I have not received any sort of documentation on paper or travel pass which I was advised I would as part of a 'welcome pack' before starting.

Could anyone kindly advise if this would pose me a problem on Monday not having received this pack or should I just go along with the email confirmation and ID of course. I have not been able to make contact with the person within the recruitment team who I have been dealing with and left them a message however I dont want to pester them for paperwork if its not critical that I have it on Monday when starting.

Any advice would be great and Thanks in advance,

Go along with what you have, if you need to buy a train ticket keep hold of it and training school will reimburse you for it when you get there.
Day 1 is all about sorting out admin stuff like this.

Thank You, apologies for the slight delay in getting back to you, after my interview I heard back within a fortnight inviting me to the medical.

Hello all.

I have my medical coming up within the next week. If I pass they have me pencilled in for starting training on 1st April in Leeds - anyone else in a similar boat?

One other question. Any advice on parking in Sheffield? This is the station where I'll be based but travelling in from elsewhere. The parking looks expensive.

Good luck to everyone! :)

I also start my training in Leeds on 4th March. Will you be based in Leeds after training too?

Leeds ;) just revived my contract by post.

Brilliant news. Any mention of free travel to and from Training (I guess it depends where in Leeds you're travelling from)? I'm coming from South Yorkshire so about 1hour on train.

Yes I did receive a company travel pass application form. It had to be completed and return ASAP in order to get everything on time.

Thats great, thank you! Such a relief because it can be up to £18 per day at peak times for me :) I'm really looking forward to it now. Hopefully see you there.

Hello, I just want to ask. I just had my whole day assessment last February and the last 2 parts of it were role play and structured interview. I receive an email that I passed and the next stage is the interview with the conductor manager. So I have 2 interviews, can I ask anyone of you had 2 interviews also before they get the job.. I am thinking if I will have the same question from the manager like the first interview which to elaborate situations.

Thank you anyone who can reply.
