My first pacer today is 142092 on 2N24, the 09:41 Newcastle - Nunthorpe. Doing a £10 day rover from the newspaper offer so am hoping to get plenty more Pacers around Saltburn and Bishop.

142048 was stopped at Dore heading west at 13.59 today, tailing an unknown 150, both carrying passengers.

Don't know what happened there as it was pulling away before I realised it wasn't the eastbound service due at that time.

I suspect it was a combination of failed 2S81 with 2S83

Quite how that was all arranged I don't know, but suggestion is the 142 was the failure? As always it caused knock on delays for other services. What a help it would be if there were bi-diectional twin tracks through Dore & Totley!

4 Hours spent at Sheffield yesterday, with a gap while i had a couple of pints at the Rutland pub just up the road produced the following units.

142 003, 012, 015, 030, 031, 032 041, 048, 067, 068, 093, 095, 096.

I was hoping for 026, 037, 058, 070, 87, 89 and 91. but it was not to be. Still the beer was good.

Good news for fans of vibration and repetive banging noises, 142018 on the 1807 MBR to Saltburn rolled in with a terrific set of wheelflats. Also 142064 with its bus seats on the 1810 towards Bishop Auckland

Looks like Heaton are going to let it have another day out tomorrow. On it's way to Middlesbrough coupled to a 156 on the 2146 from Newcastle.

Which departed Sheffield at 18.22, due Dore 18.20 but arrived at 18.42 where a number were waiting to travel forward, and others to pick up those alighting. All were
wondering where it had got to. Stuck in the Heeley loop, that's what.

The Hope Valley stations are all in the worst 50 in the country for punctuality and the Pacers aren't usually to blame. This one was held to follow a delayed TPE Cleethorpes - Manchester Airport, and then to await northbound St Pancras - Sheffield and finally northbound Peterborough - Liverpool before it was allowed across to the Hope Valley.

It seems all and sundry get priority over the Hope Valley stopping services , TPE , Cross Country and EMR and that doesn’t seem to be fair .

Yes I think the floors were original up until around five years ago. Number 67 had a Brown floor but it too has been replaced in the last few years. But they do retain the original smoking area partitions. Sadly though the doors have been removed some time ago.
it was only replaced early last year when it had a ¿C6? overhaul, I was quite sad to see it go coz it would've been absolutely ideal to preserve like that (simply strip the pastel blue paint off the internal panelling and voila!)
