East side diagrams are very much a rough guide rather than a real indication of what will be used. Huddersfield to Wakefield is almost always a 2-car pacer but on Tuesday one of the diagrams was run in part by a 2-car 158. There's generally a fair chance of a solo 153 on there, something fairly rare on services entirely within West Yorkshire.

I am aware of the 142's faults - the curve coming off the viaduct at Pannal is one of the most terrifying flange-squeals ever and the toilets lack lustre. Still I always enjoy riding in them. They remind me of all those old first generation DMUs I never appreciated enough...
