Has anyone got details of the likely itinerary for the above on Tuesday 21st December 2010? (Train departs from or calls at Manchester Piccadilly, I believe).

NORTHERN BELLE - LUNCH EXCURSION

CHECK IN
Please arrive at the station in good time, at least 20 minutes prior to departure. Depending on your embarkation point, staff are either on hand prior to arrival of the train, or the Train Manager and stewards
will greet you when the train arrives at the platform. Your carriage and seat assignment are shown on your ticket. We regret we are unable to wait for late arrivals.

Depart: 11:30 Manchester Victoria

As the Northern Belle arrives into the station, liveried stewards throw open the doors to welcome you on board. They will show you to your seats where you can sit back into the luxurious chairs and enjoy the canapes that await you. A glass of chilled champagne will shortly be served. Your journey takes you on a circular tour to enjoy the scenery from aboard the Northern Belle's luxurious carriages specially decorated for the occasion. Celebrate with a five course festive lunch accompanied with a half bottle of wine per person. A magician and musicians will be onboard for you entertainment. Passengers do not disembark during this journey. Exact routings are subject to change without notice.

Thanks for the information. So this special service is departing from Manchester Victoria (rather than Manchester Piccadilly), yes?

Have you got timings of where the service is scheduled to call after departure from Manchester at c. 1130?

And will the service be hauled by steam traction or diesel?

Diesel hauled, only a small proportion of Northern Belle trips are ever steam hauled. It'll be a DB 67.

Hi

The service is running from Manchester Victoria as it is a much easier station for us to use, if Network Rail requires us to run a service from Manchester Piccadilly, then a letter would be sent out notifying the customers with the change. The trip will be diesel hauled we very rarely run steam hauled on the Northern Belle. We don not receive the timings of the trip until a minimum of 2 weeks out so we would be bale to say where the train is going after Manchester.

Whilst noting that the schedule hasn't yet been finalised, where might the train be travelling to/from on the 21st after departing from Manchester (Victoria), and what is the approximate time that it will be due back at Manchester for?

I've always wondered if they will try and stop you from boarding if you don't turn up 'suitably' dressed.
