Northern 323 Query

What services/diagrams will Northern's 323s be allocated to this Saturday? I'm planning on being out and about this weekend and am mainly after the ones that run to/fron Liverpool Lime Street

Manchester - Stoke via Macclesfield and Congleton is always 323s.

Same with Glossop / Hadfield services.

First Saturday with a "normal" service for 6 months, so not sure.

If things are the same as weekdays, the xx28 from Lime St to Crewe via Manchester and Manchester Airport will likely see a 323 at some stage during the day. However 319s also operate this service, so a bit pot luck unless someone in the know on here can give you some definitive information.

As has been mentioned, from Manchester the Stoke stoppers and Glossop / Hadfield services are always 323s. If you travel on the Stoke train to Stockport you will pass Longsight where there are usually some outside especially at weekends.

Services to Crewe are mainly 319s now, but you do occasionally see 323s leak back onto there, along with the occasional one on the Hazel Grove terminators.

I thought 319s didn't operate on the Stoke line as they can't keep the 323 timings and the 323 only just gets to Stoke before a XC Voyager catches it up. Has a 319 ever been to Stoke on a Manchester service?

Not that I'm aware of. The acceleration on the 319s is bad enough on the Lime Street to Crewe via Airport runs, never mind with a 221 or a 390 breathing down its neck...

It feels like forever now, but prior to the Saturday strikes, the 323s were allocated to the following Liverpool services (the same as on weekdays):

08.16, 09.16 and 11.17 Crewe - Liverpool Lime Street
11.00, 12.00 and 14.00 Liverpool Lime Street - Warrington Bank Quay
12.12, 13.11 and 15.12 Warrington Bank Quay - Liverpool Lime Street
13.28, 14.28 and 16.28 Liverpool Lime Street - Crewe

Now, RTT is showing the Crewe services as starting and terminating at Alderley Edge for the next two Saturdays, so I'm not sure if that will affect the 323 allocations. As mentioned above, the Hadfield and Stoke-on-Trent stoppers from Manchester are safe bets for 323s.
