Two months after 195104 was rerailed and moved to Ulverston sidings, it is still there (seen today)(the thread on the derailment at Grange Over Sands is locked; I would have raised this there). Are there plans to repair it?
Yes, I noticed it both yesterday and last week after returning from my other half’s in Barrow, it’s just slumped there. Two months after 195104 was rerailed and moved to Ulverston sidings, it is still there (seen today)(the thread on the derailment at Grange Over Sands is locked; I would have raised this there). Did it, or did it get skated?I am surprised, as it got to Ulverston on it's wheels,
The Smart Moroway conversion works with narrow lanes for 12 miles from the M58 to the M62 junctions presumably would necessitate avoiding the M6It’s heading a bizarre route to get to Wolverton. It was seen crossing Stainmore on the A66 a couple of nights ago, presumably gone across to Scotch Corner then south on the A1. Issues on the M6 perhaps?
Depends how much damage but I wouldn't expect it back this year unless it is an easy job. After the Inspection how long will the tender process take and how long will it be before 195104 returns to service? Are we looking at some time this year or will it be next year now?
I know 195133 is at Newton Heath but not to sure what's happening with it as it seems to very rarely move from its stabling point near Metrolink tracks.
Presumably only CAF have access to any bodywork or structural parts, so who else is actually qualified to bid?Unit was being off loaded at Wolverton this morning (Fri 12/07 as planned) then the fun begins. Inspections, invitations to bidders, process of bids, reviews and award of contracts take time (normally about a month depending on the nature of the repair). Once awarded the movement of the unit to whatever agreed site needs to happen before the repair commences. That repair can take however long depending on the availability of spares etc. to replace, which in this instance could be tricky.

And that assumes that spare composite body panels actually exist, or that the moulds were retained.
A TRAIN that derailed in Grange has been moved across the country to be fixed.
Residents took photos of the front unit of the train being hauled out of Ulverston.
It came off the track on March 22 but was too damaged to be moved back to a depot via rail.
The unit then began its four hour journey south on the back of a lorry on July 10. Northern confirmed that it went to Gemini Rail Services in Wolverton, near Milton Keynes.
A spokesperson said: "The extent of the damage is being assessed and we will be starting talks imminently with engineering specialists who can carry out the repair work.
If it needs major structural bits that never normally get changed or bits such as wheelsets that are already in short supply, you can easily struggle for availability.Considering 195s are a newish unit why would it be hard to source parts for 195104, surely considering TFW have got similar units parts shouldn't be that hard to come by.
