Northampton to Newquay, cheap tickets?

I'm after a bit of help. I'm planning on travelling down to Cornwall (newquay) on the 29th of June and I'm looking for the cheapest route. I've checked about and only managed to get £200-ish for the cheapest price! Can anyone source cheaper tickets? Ideally I'd like the tickets as early as possible for the 29th and to return on the 4th of July as late as possible. Thanks again for any help!

Probably your best bet will be to fly from London Gatwick, Flybe have return fares from £68 including taxes on the days you mention. The train is excrutiatingly slow to Newquay around 5 hours from Paddington.
You can get to Gatwick by changing trains at Milton keynes and Clapham Junction

An offf peak return from Northampton - Newquay is £102 via London
You can leave on the 0517 from Northampton & arrive at Newquay at 1258 or leave at 0805 at arrive at 1450
You return at 1718 and arrive back at 0118 or leave at 1520 at get back at 1134.
Alternatively you can use advance tickets although to cjheapest have sold out the following are available

Outward on the 0805 arriving 1450 you can get an advance from Paddington - Newquay for £40-50 and a single from Northampton - London for £30
Return £27-50 on the 1718 return above making a total of £98

However in view of the minimum saving I would use the off peak return at £102 via London

If flying is an option, and you can leave on the 28th in the evening, then flying from Birmingham with BMIbaby would be about £40 each, and a lot quicker to get to than Gatwick.
The off-peak return is £102 isn't it?

0616 Arrive Birmingham N St
0642 Depart Birmingham N St (Cross Country > Paignton)
0907 Arrive Exeter St Davids
0934 Depart Exeter St Davids (First GreatWestern > Penzance)
1133 Arrive in Par
1210 Depart Par (First GreatWestern > Newquay)
1258 Arrive Newquay

and returning

0930 Depart Newquay (Cross Country > Edinburgh)
1456 Arrive Birmingham N St
1533 Depart Birmingham N St (London Midland > L Euston)
1634 Arrive Northampton

I'm no ticketing expert so I'll leave it to someone else
