Hi guys,

Any idea why there were a fair few train spotters (well, maybe six!) in Northampton at 6:30 ish yesterday evening? There was a special announcement about a train that had left Bletchley and a couple of LM staff looked like they were getting ready to see something. Just wondered!

I saw it pass through Rugby at 10.50 and I knew that it was returning at about that time

It was an awesome sight, I've never seen a steam engine go through Rugby before :)

Oh Yippee... I can hardly contain my excitement!

Seen one steam special you've seen them all, we have too many.

Try this so you can get your next fix: http://www.uksteam.info/index.htm

Why do I detect a hint of sarcasm in your post?

You do have a valid point on there being too many steam specials so far, would much prefer something different to be done myself.

How about a 12car Class 142/3/4 ensemble?

Hmm, as attractive as that sounds and it would have to run on the South West Trains area

I would much prefer to see a 3rd rail slam door tour or something similar....

I wouldn't mind seeing a DMU operated Railtour. Get a 101 back out there!

On the topic of Steam specials, get some Tank locos on them.

You need help! Now how about a nice Western & Warship together with 10 MkX coaches on the GWML from Padd - Zance. :D

Hmm, you do have a point there but being on a diesel railtour twice it really had to be something special.

Still, it would be interesting to see Western traction first hand.

Should have come down to WSR in June, you'd have loved it.

Two Teddies, Two Warships, Two Westerns, a 33, a 47, a Rat, great weekend! :)

what about a RailTour running from one Heritage Railway to another Heritage Railway (obviously via the main line). Is this even possible?
