Bus company Stagecoach says it is ‘not unknown’ for drivers to keep buses outside their own house – after pictures emerged of a single-decker on a Northampton driveway.

A photograph of the vehicle seemingly stationary on a private drive on Gloucester Avenue, Delapre, has been circulating on Facebook and Twitter today.

A stagecoach spokesperson said: “We are currently investigating why this bus has pulled onto someone’s driveway.

“It is not unknown for bus drivers to park buses on their own drive overnight however this is not the case in an urban area like Northampton.”

If you saw this incident, or were on the bus at the time, then get in touch with us via email on editor@northantsnews.co.uk.

Nosy neighbours. I've had this when I've took buses home (usually ones that I own).

I had the photo sent to me. and it seems very obvious that the bus on the driveway was letting the other one past. as if you look at the position of the oncoming bus. given the choice of reversing say a quarter of a mile of a 50 yard reverse of that driveway i say well done to the driver.

No though given that most of the new fleet have received route branding, don't know how wideranging a review would be. Even the 10 and 12 that some predicted would get changed are branded.

So Stagecoach are just letting everything settle down before taking a good look. I wonder how its doing agaist Uno and Meridian Bus.

The only significant change coming up is the extension of the Sunday X7 to Milton Keynes to create an hourly MK-Northampton Sunday service when combined with the X4. The Northampton-Leicester section will also be hourly on Sunday now. Additionally the Sunday X4 has been re-routed to serve Stoke Bruerne.

The only ones they haven't branded now are the 7, 16/17 and 22 I believe.

One driver I was chatting to described the current network as 'Stagecoach competing against Stagecoach'.
