I'm thinking about getting one of these for use next Saturday (15th).

However, the direct trains between Preston and Leeds which usually call at Bramley, New Pudsey and Bradford Interchange are being diverted on that date via Brighouse. On the face of it, this would mean that this ticket will not be valid on these trains between Halifax and Leeds, but does anyone know whether or not this will be the case?

You should be fine. The general principles of Routing - which although not applying directly to Rovers, but could be reasonably interpreted to in this case - state that if a train is diverted away from it's booked route due to engineering works then tickets which would be valid on the normal route would also be valid on the train via the diversionary routes. I suspect this only applies for journeys going round the diversion however - so you should be ok going Halifax to Leeds, but don't try getting off at Dewsbury for example as I suspect that technically isn't allowed.

That would lead to an interesting query - if this is permitted then is continuing travel to Leeds only valid on other trains diverted from Halifax or on any train?
