Yes but with electrification, some FCC services could be extended to Doncaster via Lincoln so using FCC stock but using EMT crews much like the FCC/South Eastern arrangement.

So would be a FCC to Peterborough then become a EMT to Doncaster and with the extra services, investment by business's is likely and will warrant the work being done.

I know FCC stock is being used on DOO operation but potentially they could be used for both DOO and Non DOO.

It's a nice idea, i've always faniced having a go on a dusty bin, but sadly i can't see it happening. There's two links of Nott's Drivers to train on three types of AC unit. Thats a big and costly undertaking and i'm not sure there would be a sufficient business case to justify it.

all three should be done by 2016 according to the DfT but I'll believe it when I see the OLE train out doing its thing. The order they are supposed to be doing them in are:

Manchester-Euxton
Huyton-Springs Branch
Preston-Blackpool North

Not Forgetting Liverpool - Manchester via Newton-le-Willows before those three.
