TFW have pulled all Liverpool and Birmingham services today, leaving only the Manchester and Cardiff trains.

Anyone know what the excuse for this is? There's nothing listed on their planned disruption page.

Leaves an abysmal service, particularly for a summer Saturday. No direct trains to Llandudno, just an hourly Llandudno Junction shuttle.

That's really bad. Looking at Real-time trains it looks planned though as services aren't listed in the working timetable and aren't showing as cancelled either

The transport for Wales service map shows a blue line for the Coast, "amended service" but isn't specific

A quick look on the Transport for Wales website provides all the information. So they haven’t just “pulled” services because they feel like it.

Engineering work is taking place between Crewe and Shrewsbury, closing all lines.

Rail replacement buses will operate between Crewe and Shrewsbury via Nantwich.

Services between Manchester Piccadilly and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen / Pembroke Dock / Milford Haven / Fishguard Harbour will operate between Crewe and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen / Pembroke Dock / Milford Haven / Fishguard Harbour only, running via Chester and Wrexham General.

Services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe will operate to a retimed schedule.

Services between Chester and Llandudno Junction have also been reduced.

Yes, they have. The removed trains do not run between Crewe and Shrewsbury.
