North Norfolk Rly back in 1991

[Fell Runner]

Looking at my notes from a visit to the NNR in July 1991, I had recorded one service train formation as:

81033 + 87 + 91 + 43041

I now have no idea what 87 and 91 were and hoping somebody might have the answer.
Not sure if part of an in-house numbering scheme or brought in from somewhere else.

The other set running on the day was:

3868 + 21103 + 51769 + 4521

I visited on 25 August 1991. According to my notes, the two sets running that day were:
- E43034 + Pullman 291 + Pullman 287 + M81033
- E4521 + E4651 + 51769 (ex LNER) + E3868 + E21103
So I suspect your 87 and 91 are the two Pullman vehicles. I have a feeling they were ex-Brighton Belle vehicles, so they might well have been running with "Car No. 87" and "Car No. 91" on the carriage sides as part of the Pullman livery.

Thank you - that makes perfect sense, and they were indeed from the Brighton Belle.
