North Downs Line with a Toddler

Going to take my daughter on a train ride in a couple of weeks. I was thinking of starting in Crowthorne or Sandhurst but needed an idea of where to go turnaround at. Is there an activity or cafe near a station that we can chill out at before we start our return journey?

Vague memory tells me there's a Toby Carvery opposite Redhill station, that could certainly pose a useful end point to the journey? Puccinos on platforms 1/2 could come in handy for a coffee, I like their coffee and I like the fairly dry humour on the sides of the cups/sugar packets. 'Now with this written here!' on the side of a cup used to be one of my favourites, over the years they've done loads of different cup designs and they raise a smile whenever I get one.

I'm not terribly familiar with the area around the NDL otherwise, so I can't really help you there.

Reigate isn't too bad - nice castle ruins about a 5 minute (adult) walk away. Guildford station obviously very close to the centre with lots in easy distance. Depends what sort of activity you're after!

There is indeed a Toby Carvery opposite Redhill on the eastern side & a decent pub.

Perssonally, i would say anything beyond Guildford and you will have a bored toddler on your hands *


* Clearly you know your child better than me, but children do bore quickly.

There are a number of cafes in Guildford and the castle grounds to run around.

Redhill is TBH a dump,
Reigate is better, but I think too far.

Going from Crowthorne / Sandhurst you'd get to Reigate before Redhill.
