Hi,

I'm off work a for a few days this week so looking to go and explore some stations on the northern routes.

Ive seen Northern do a north country rover which is 4 in 8days.

But the issue is I want to go to Newcastle for a flying visit and would normally do Bradford to York then York to Newcastle.

But that is east coast main line mainly LNER, XC and TP would the ticket be valid?

Ive tried calling National rail enquiries but not very helpful and the website isn't very clear.

Also any suggestions on routes or stations to visit would be awesome.

Thankyou in advance for any help or advice

It's valid on all National Rail operators (under the NRCoT, this is the case by default, unless the ticket says otherwise). The area of validity is shown here, which includes Bradford to York to Newcastle.

The Northern website says

Using a Rail Rover ticket

You can use your Rail Rover ticket on all train companies' services shown on the maps below, except for Grand Central and First Hull Trains.

and so I am not sure what isn't very clear?

There's also the slightly more expensive 4 days in 8 days "North East Rover". Includes the ECML as far North as Berwick upon Tweed and as far South as Retford. Also valid to Sheffield and Cleethorpes but maybe not as good route coverage on the West side of the Pennines. Once again not valid on Grand Central or Hull Trains.
