Hey Guys

I got playing Open BVE at a friends house the other day and I now want it on my own computer.

Can someone give me a run down of what I need to install as every website I visit seems to be out of date :/

You can get OpenBVE from both:
http://odakyufan.zxq.net/openbve
and:
http://www.openbve.org

It won't come with any routes or trains so i would recommend these sites:
http://www.trainsimstuff.org (for the excellent Network West Midlands Route)
https://sites.google.com/a/bve4trains.com/bve4trains (for some trains)

Hi Crossforth,

Ok, though development of OpenBVE has slowed to a crawl, there are still great traction and routes available for all to enjoy. BVE is now upto version 5 and the only disappointment here is that all supporting documentation is in Japanese. General improvements seem to be with animated objects and external views where before it was a sim where you were strapped in the driver's seat.

Another is available through here and it too has a page with updated documentation for the sim http://www.bve-terminus.org/

The American scene is also covered at http://www.bvestation.com/

Plus most of the older routes and traction that was previously available through TrainSimCentral is now found here http://www.trainsimstuff.org/

Ok I wouldn't normally mention other Forums within another Forum but the two found at BVE Terminus and BVE Worldwide seem to be the most active when it comes to the European BVE scene and BVE Station if you prefer the American scene.
