1Z86 Reported to actually be 44871 - there was a VSTP Crewe-Steamtown last night and one tonight Farington-Crewe HC

Thanks for confirmation - no-one has bothered to amend 1Z88 schedule. Ignoring the fact that it shows diesel from Appleby I assume it will change on the curve as per normal and some arrangement has been made to pass the Preston passengers from either Blackburn or Wigan.

I think the plan is 44871 off at Preston and then runs light to Crewe to spend the night there for the North Wales excursion tomorrow.

Thank you, i only just got a glimse of the rear of the train as it passed through Truro. Had thought it was just being hauled by a 57.
