Non Safeguarded Priv Oyster

I am a non safe guarded employee at Cross Country Trains, am I entitled to any discount on a Oyster card or monthly travel pass in London at all?

My take on it is you can get a priv discount on an Oyster but only for National Rail & London Overground journeys. Not entitled to any PRIV discount on TfL tube services.

ah, if you want to use Priv discount for “residential travel” (normal place of residence to normal place of work) you have to apply for authorisation from Rail Staff Travel to use a Priv Season ticket.
From Sect 2 of the aforementioned guide:

Residential Travel is classified as travelling from your permanent place of residence to your permanent place of regular employment or education, i.e. commuting.
The Rail Staff Travel Facility Rules only allow an employee or dependant to have one place of regular employment or education.
The use of Priv season tickets for Residential Travel is only permitted for Employees and Dependants once authorised in writing by Rail Staff Travel by an authorised season ticket form.
The use of single/return Priv tickets for Residential Travel is not permitted for Employees or Dependants.

Wimbledon, so originally looking at into Waterloo and then Viccy up to KX.

But if Priv season ticket doesnt cover the tube then would have to look at getting Thameslink

You would not be able to get a Priv season but LNER staff living in Greater London can obtain a discount on underground fares on Oyster, which is at the same level as the Priv discount for safeguarded staff. I think it has a restriction of being for residential use only.

Presumably that’s a deal struck between the TOC and TfL themselves because that would seem to contradict the RST guide!

That's correct, which is also why it only applies to some LNER staff.

If you are non-safeguarded then there is no priv entitlement of any sort for LUL services. But Thameslink run direct from Wimbledon to STP so that would be valid for a Priv season ticket.

But some companies have arrangements with TfL to allow non-safeguarded staff Priv type benefits, LNER anf GTR being examples. In return TfL staff of similar status benefit from season tickets dicounted to Priv levels.
