Do GWR have dispensation for their classic 2+4 HST sets? I believe there is only one diagram left.
Still would be less compliant considering alot of the 2+4 castle sets still has slam doors and not compliant slide doors.

Better alternative if they need it would be mark 4s but I don’t see why Chiltern would need to replace their mark 3s considering they are being modified to be compliant at the moment?

On the Northern 153/144 front, if TPE aren't going to be ready to re-merge the Huddersfield stoppers at the next timetable change, then the 153s will have to stay for longer. If it is decided that keeping the stoppers split is better for reliability reasons, then a decision on PRM-ing a small number of 153s will need to be made.

The last classic diagram was worked by a 158+150(?) today so every HST is now a Class 255 Castle Set with sliding doors.

Don’t believe so - I certainly can’t see a dispensation letter on the DfT website for them and believe the final set was stopped last night.

As these are essentially EU based will the Regulations continue from 1 February or be consigned to the Brexit clear out and freedom for Home Rule?

The regulations are in UK law. The standard may have been set by the EU, but the implementation is down to member states and the 31/12/19 deadline was a UK government decision.

I realise that. But the SI can be repealed/replaced at will now.

The 2010 government was a very different beast to the 2017 one which is keen on deregulation.

Maybe I’m just paranoid.

EMR a good example of a franchise set up unable to meet the PRM deadline?
Absolutely, the original plan to electrify the MML to Sheffield was a 5 year plan starting in 2013, so should have been completed over a year ago, add in the delays in awarding the new franchise, the blame is squarely with the Government/DFT.

Even the 2017 government is ancient history now! ;)

As it relates to existing stock, the UK legislation goes above and beyond the requirements set by the EU. The EU regulations only require new vehicles to meet the PRM/TSI standards, the UK implementation of those regulations also applies to legacy stock. Whatever the rights and wrongs of that decision, it isn't the EU's fault.

Does anyone know if automated announcements have appeared on the Cross-country Voyagers? If I recall, they are installed but not used.
Yes, XC has just never used them thus far. Thats going to have to change though most likely?

If it is they are going to be running short considering 8 out of 12 castle sets have had the PRM modifications.

As long as the service can be run short with 8 instead of 12 PRM castle sets then shouldn’t be a problem
