On the subject of birds, has anybody ever noticed how many station pigeons have damaged feet?

I suppose it's down to them needing safety shoes...

Those damaged feet are caused by the bird's own droppings. The droppings are very, very acidic and literally burn away at their feet if they don't wash it off in a bath or something

Now that is interesting, I had often wondered about that myself. Nearly every pigeon in Glasgow Central seems to have deformed feet.

When I visited Cardiff Central recently the amount of people trying to stuff themselves onto an FGW service to Taunton, this fella probably has the right idea... ;)
