Harrow on the hill have bulb lit boards that have surely been there for decades.
They were installed in 1960. The ones at Harrow are ideal for passengers. You never know which platform your next fast Amersham/Chesham service will arrive at, so indicators on platforms 3 and 4 need to be clear enough to allow them to be visible on platform 1 and vice versa.
Dot Matrix signs wouldn't be able to perform this task as well.
