Apologies if this has been covered before. Four years ago I got on the wrong train with an advance ticket (Leicester to London). I was late from work and forgot that I was traveling with an advance single, rather than my usual season ticket. I didn't notice my mistake until I presented my ticket. I did not have the means to pay the full open fare. I offered to pay the full fare at the end of the journey. My details were taken and a caution was mentioned but I have never further communication on the matter. My family have lived at the address continuously since the incident. I haven't really thought about it since but am now in a state of anxiety about whether anything will show up on record/CRB check etc.. Any advice would be gratefully received

Have you ever been convicted in a court of law? Any correspondence?

Sounds like they never followed it up to me but am happy to be corrected on this.

If you have had nothing since the incident it sounds very unlikely you will have been convicted in your absence.

If you are anxious about this you can get a basic CRB check through Disclosure Scotland for £25.

Well, unless the post was somehow misdirected. Unlikely - yes, BUT I'd want to be sure if it was me. It may well be worth following Snail's advice there.

It would be fairly safe to assume it disappeared, then.
