No services to Clapham Junction from Guildford

Unfortunately today there are no services from Guildford to Clapham. I waited from 1800 hoping the issue would get fixed but no luck. Now on the 2047 to Waterloo, to get the 2145 to Clapham.

According to real time trains there were, but not anything running along the up main through Clapham, i.e. not the faster services - I'd stab a guess that there was a points failure that put platform 7 at Clapham Junction out of action. Why didn't you just go via Cobham? You'd have arrived at 1903! Once you knew the 1800 fast wasn't going to stop then that would have still been quicker if even the following fast had called there.

Yeah, it seems only the express services were/are passing Clapham Junction non-stop. Everything else seems to be OK

unfortunately I find the class 455s very uncomfortable. I was more comfortable getting my wisdom teeth removed then sitting on one of those.

Assuming you were too late for the 1758, but would have been in time for the 1800, the 1804 would have got you to Clapham Jn at 1902 (5min late), which is 31mins later than originally booked.

Alternatively, you could have got the 1800 to Waterloo (which departed at 1816 and arrived Waterloo 1858). There were then 3 trains to Clapham Jn between 1901 and 1904.

I think that this thread has run its course we can see what happened to cause the issue that the OP faced and the possible resolutions available that were not taken advantage of.
