NO PENDOS OR VOYAGERS!

Been on a ALR since sat and yet no pendo or voyager (taking one tom though) sorry had a meridan on saturday between barnsley and sheffield what are the odds of that in 2008?.
Trouble is i MTUed between paddington -swansea with 003!! one of the original hst's

I've only been on 2 Pendos and 3 Voyagers this year.

And, as for MTU out of Paddington, well that was certain considering FGW have MTUd their whole fleet.

yep i know they are all MTUed had NO 47/76 back today on the master cutler got some funny looks off the suits as i was on THEIR train!! looked gob smacked when guard checked the ticket as its a 1st class one Ha Ha

I was waiting in the FC area for an NXEC to Aberdeen once. First time on the train, so I didn't know which end was which and I had walked just a bit down the platform. The NXEC crew member kindly informed me that first class was "much further down the platform". I felt a bit insulted that he did not ask for my ticket or if I was a FC customer, but simply assumed standard class by looking at me. Even though I was SC. Almost felt like saying that I had a FC ticket

I understand how you feel in a way i got the 1st class ticket so i knew i had a seat but it feels great sitting on their train!!.
Im doing it tomorrow on a few pendo's ,i know people slate FGW 1st class but i liked it a lot better than EMT but on FSR at least i got a seat!!

Ive been on 6 pendo's and 13 voyagers but I suppose I dont mind I say getting on one is the means to and end so gotta be worth it.

It would be nice if they started accepting 16-25 Railcard discount on FC ALRs. I believe they are considering it.

went on my 1st pendo today (35 yrs in hobby) and i loved it alas only crewe-stafford as got bowled out due to WCML failure doing EUS-GLC tom and ECML back but a lot of noise from carriage equipment still prefer the 87's though

I am proud to say i have never been on a Vomit Comit or a Bendolino, only the Meridians I cant really avoid because less Hellfire Speeding Trains are stopping at the Ketto ghetto now.

Try the MML then you'll at least get a Valenta at one end!

Ive considered getting an ALR before but they are too damn expensive I reckon unless you have a good paid job to pay for all the stuff (hotels, station priced food etc.) or have a good plan of what to do.

Hi, I must agree with you about the 87's. For sure. Never mind better to travel on, you should try drivin a 390!!!!!!!! Or rather, i should say tryin to drive one then gettin 20mins up line to find: Oh!! What a shock!!! Something has broken!!! That not happened ever before!!! Whoever decided the future of our HST's should lie in the hands of the Italians making electrics for us must have been very very drunk at the time. I am sure I need only mention the word 'Fiat' to prove my point!!!

The "blinds" were certainly an ill-conceived idea. I'm preety sure that the vibration noise in the carriage is mostly due to them.

Ah, you would have been sat almost directly underneath the pantograph then. The noises you heard was the switchgear doin whatever it is supposed to. Common on most electrical trains im afraid. One of the dis-advantages of electric instead of diesel.

At least you didn't go on a 323!!! I have never heard a noise like that in my life!! Resembles something out of the film Ailen! Ha Ha!!
