Hi all,
Is it just me, or have there been no new trainee train driver roles advertised recently? I've been checking regularly for the past few months and haven't seen any new postings. Is there a specific reason for this, like a hiring freeze, seasonal slowdown, or something else? Or is it just a quiet period right now? Any insights would be appreciated!

Chiltern has an opening for Marylebone and Aylesbury right now.

Just a month or two ago TPE opened a whole host of Trainee Driver Role opportunities up. I guess it depends on which companies operate locally to you, and just being vigilant and keep checking daily on their internal website career pages.

Northern have just advertised again, but you don’t say where you are. Any company will only recruit when it has the need for new staff and the capacity to train them. If no one is retiring or leaving, it might explain the lack of vacancies.

I think that it’s fair to say that there are/have been trainee driver roles out there. There has been a short discussion surrounding what factors influence a TOC to advertise.

It’s impossible to say when any given TOC will next run a recruitment campaign.

I’m going to bring this thread to a close.
