My wife is travelling from Lancashire to Eastbourne. One of her tickets says valid via any permitted route, Euxton to Eastbourne. There isnt a Maltese Cross on the ticket as I recall there usually is. There is a circular mark adjacent to the word Outword on the ticket.

Has the Maltese cross been replaced?

Could anyone clarify please?

The connection between Euston and Victoria shows on the journey planner.

If not covered is it simple enough and the easiest way to use a contactless bank card on the underground?

Thanks for any help.

All Any Permitted fares from Euxton to Eastbourne are valid on the Underground and should be issued with a Maltese cross.

Can you perhaps upload a (suitably anonymised) picture of your wife's ticket?

I believe the circular mark indicates that the ticket is discounted (e.g. by a railcard).

Yes, I can confirm the "Christian cross" to the left of the route is the cross you're looking for and this will work Tube barriers. Most seem to be printed like this these days rather than the traditional ✠.

The dagger has been the way it was marked for donkeys in my area SWT/SWR. The Maltese cross seems to have been seen more in written explanations, fares manuals etc etc…
