No GWR Letter

Hi all. I was interviewed under caution in mid August 2024 at Paddington station after being caught by a GWR officer while travelling with an invalid ticket. I gave all my real details but i haven’t received any letter or notification at all - 8 months later… I was wondering if my case is closed? I was not given any reference number or document at all at the station

If it's more than 6 months later they are too late to prosecute you.

There is the possibility you have been prosecuted in your absence but that is unlikely and if it does turn out you were, and you get a notice of fine/further steps, come back and we will advise further.

Yes, actually the GRW inspector went through my trainline journey history and took note of all invalid trips, does this change something for the 6 month limit they have to prosecute?

For a big multi journey interaction, it's possible that monies would be recovered through the civil court, there is also the possibility of a multi journey interaction being prosecuted under the fraud act. Both of these would not be limited to the six month limit.

I'm not sure to be honest, I don't have a great deal to do with that side of things.

But not impossible, but there is also the civil court, which is being used more these days for these kinds of interactions.
