First train from Doncaster (direct) at 07:24, and from Newark (direct) 07:40
There are three departures to Doncaster FROM Grimsby before the first incoming. First one 05:26; and two to Newark, first one 05:56.
I remember being on a milk train from Retford arriving Grimsby 05:32 in the mid-1970's. Good old days (01:15 from King's Cross)
These days, there is nothing arriving from either Doncaster or Newark before 08:26 and 09:15 respectively.
The local council is trying so hard to regenerate the area but it seems the TOC's just don't care about providing a decent service.

Typical attitude of today's TOC's - they are only interested in making a profit on there services and if it doesn't make a profit then they don't want to know.

No longer is the railway a public service, its become a cash cow for big business.

If you're so concerned might I suggest writing to your MP/DfT/Phillip Hammond as it is the DfT that set the service minimums for the TOCs to provide. It would also be worthwhile writing to the TOCs concerned enquiring as to the reason for no early services to Grimsby as there could be operational reasons (signal boxes not open, rolling stock needed elsewhere, crew rostering issues).

Stock is serviced in Cleethorpes overnight, hence the inbalance in the TPE services. However, there are a couple of ecs moves which could become passenger services:
04:45ish Lincoln-Cleethorpes, this has a guard as it then works the 05:48 to Newark.
05:30ish Doncaster-Cleethorpes, I'm not sure if this has a guard or if the guard gets to Scunthorpe by different means (the unit works the Barton shuttle with TPE crew, the driver works an ecs to Scunthorpe with the previous day's unit)

It's hard for tpe as I think all thier crew is from cleethorpes that run the Sheffield to cleethorpes section. However emt cold easily. Commuting to grimsby is terrible but what do you expect it's Lincolnshire.

No, only demand to leave ;)

I was going to say that :(

One thing about Grimsby is that on A-roads around there, there are always exit lanes but never entry ones ;)

Seriously though, rail travel around much of Lincolnshire is quite poor; Grimsby has quite a good service during the day, but I doubt there is demand to warrant earlier arrivals.

The good old 1500 Sunday from Lincoln - first of the day, no wonder it's always so crowded.
