When I did it Friday, I believe it was 2 x seated cars, the buffet car and 3 sleeper cars.

One thing I'd recommend to anyone booking, is book the sleeper car furthest away from the 57, the noise from the loco did wake me up a fair few times.
Good tips. Thanks

Good tips. Thanks

If you're one of those that likes the sound of the loco then not a problem, but at 3am at the morning when you're sat at Exeter for an hour and all you can here is the 57 rumbling away when you'd rather be asleep, it's a bit different!

That said, I did it with my 9 year old son and he slept all the way through!

Thanks. So is RTT just inaccurate or is it just low demand this week? Which would not be unexpected I must say.

RTT Is inaccurate this time.

RTT only shows vehicles that convey passengers in seats in its vehicle numbers. The sleepers aren't defined as having seats so it ignores them when counting.

Who defies weather a vehicle has seating or not?

Yet for the Caledonian sleeper it’s all very clear. Shows each carriage and indicates if it’s a sleeping car and which is bar car etc.

So why different with the night riviera?

The rolling stock library database.

How odd.

Night Riviera is a GWR service and comes via the Gemini open data feed. Caledonian Sleeper comes through a separate data feed that I negotiated with them.

Had an email back today regarding my claim, they've approved it, berth supplement included.

Many branch lines are heavily subsidised by the tax payer also, where do you draw the line?
so my friends journey I mentioned up thread in jan now undertaken but sleeper significantly delayed on arrival in Penzance. Any tips on submitting Delay - Repay claim (they will want to do online) for the full cost of their tickets - not sure what ticket they held yet but think it was an 'Advance' -I'm asking if that was berth included or if they paid separately for travel and berth in some process.

GWR withdraw berth-inclusive fares in 2022, in favour of variable berth supplements.

These are only supposed to be sold in conjunction with a walk-up ticket for the journey, though this isn't mentioned on either the GWR website or the National Rail website. It's only when you try and buy a ticket on GWR's website that it becomes obvious, as the Cabin option is only shown against the walk-up fares.

It is, however, mentioned in Knowledgebase, so if the original ticket and/or Supplement was purchased at a Ticket Office they should have been aware of the change.

I had 3 tickets, the Adult and Child off-peak singles and the berth supplement, I just submitted all 3 tickets at the same time on the delay repay portal using the ticket number from the bottom of the ticket and the value in £ as you would with any other paper ticket.

Thanks - I suspect the tickets were bought on line or at best via a call centre (if that's even an option still)

Appreciate this info though

Thanks - this sounds like what I should advise them to do. If that fails for any reason they have got the Appeal route anyway

My tickets were brought online, but you have to collect them from a TVM, no e-tickets are available for the sleeper.

It was as straight forward as any other delay repay claim to be fair, no issues at all.
