Evening all.
Up until recently it had been possible to book a solo berth from Paddington to Penzance on a Wednesday evening for little more than the price of a super Off-Peak ticket for a seat.
To my disappointment the cheapest fare I now seem to be able to find for a Wednesday evening is £130, even when booking in advance. Can anyone advise is this just a seasonal pricing change, and I have been benefiting from cheaper winter fares?
I appreciate that that demand will increase when it's half term and Easter but can't imagine that's the berths will be particularly well occupied otherwise.
It's a real shame, as I quite looked forward to my train ride home!
I just can't justify spending that amount of money when I could break my journey overnight and book a Travelodge for less. My issue is compounded because I work extended hours to enable me to work a shorter week, so from that point of view the sleeper was ideal because I could do a full days work on Wednesday and still be home by Thursday morning.
