Evening all,

Have just watched the night riviera through St Erth, and it raised a few queries on how it’s dispatched.

It looks as though there is a train manager & then dispatch competent stewards (or a second guard?) that ensure the doors are secured. TM then locks the doors, joins the train, and then displays a green towards the front from the middle of the train. This is then relayed to the driver by the steward (or second guard?) at the front of the train. However, the green was displayed continually until the train had left the platform. Is this a procedure unique to the Night Riviera, or something more common now with ‘self dispatched’ (I.E. no platform staff) LHCS?

Quite an interesting spectacle to watch, and not something that’s very common with public service trains nowadays.
