Anybody know what route was taken by the up Night Riviera last night.21:15 PNZ-PAD?

I imagine it probably went via Exeter.

Edit: Really though, LDB says it went via Exeter Central, Yeovil, Castle Cary, Reading and then into Paddington.

Further to the above, it went via Swindon from Castle Cary, not via Newbury

Exeter St Davids shunters must have improved then. The last time I reversed there on the riveira theres no way you have slept through, most of the customers were on the platform looking to see what had crashed in to the train!

They must have, it was only when I read your post and looked at the photos I took at PAD this morning, that I realised that we had reversed. My only excuse is that it was early.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anybody know any detail about what happened with the down Night Riviera on the 12th?

I was on it, in coach H at the back of the train. At some point during the journey a loud hissing noise began at the connection between G and H and we stopped for a while outside what I believe was Exeter (I could see an SWT 159 from my window) while this was rectified (only partially, it was still hissing, just more quietly). We arrived in Penzance some 30 minutes late after a much shorter than timetabled stop at Plymouth, but my friend who was also on the train says that we were already about 40 minutes late passing Westbury, so what was the cause of the delay?

Sounds like a leaking brake connector.

Can't answer your question I am afraid, but can add that the Penzance shunter was busy rearranging stock over the weekend, so I guess the faulty coach was removed for repair.
