GWR are changing the number of solo berths from 8 to 6 per coach so the twin cabins must have become more popular ? Unless this is to match the layouts of the new stock ? .:-

I would suspect the reduction of solo berths and increase in twin berths (which single passengers can share with a stranger) is solely to increase capacity/passenger numbers and hence revenue. Nothing more complicated than that.

Same reason you can no longer get the Standard solo berth supplement (I believe) on the Caley sleeper.

Single passengers can't share with a stranger on the Night Riviera.

As posted on Night Riviera thread already, this is to increase capacity further. Current, 4 double with 8 single. New, 6 double with 6 single. This is until the refurbished fleet is completely done when capacity will increase again.
