nHancer is a free tool for 32+64bit XP/Vista users, enabling them to setup different "profiles" for different games...

I have used it before in the helicopter sim series Enemy Engaged, the main reason being to force anti-aliasing & anisotropic sampling on in games that do not have native support for them, in EECH the effect is obvious and greatly improves the game...

BVE (as far as I'm aware) falls into this category... I have made preliminary tests with nHancer & BVE and because of the limitations of my rig, I can't tell much difference, but the game is stable, with no CTD or BSOD (at least no more BSOD than normal  )...

CLICK HERE to be taken to the nHancer download page, and try it for yourself... If this works, coupled with the screensize thingamajig BVE will be truly HD...

I just took an explorer on the non-stop clarendon route, and it has made an improvement... the tracks appear smoother, and texture are less jaggy... this is with 4xAA multisampling & 16xAF... I didn't notice too much of a performance hit, average 12-13FPS on the single track sections, and not dropping below 10 on the 4 track run...

next is to try the brumXcity south, to see what effect catenary has on the FPS...

try it for yourselfs and let me know...

bare in mind my rig is quite lowly...
