NFM CD and Virgin discrepancy wrt OFF PEAK trains

The NFM 05 CD says that trains leaving London Euston on or after 0905 are classified as morning off peak. I was reading some current Virgin fares paraphernalia that I picked up from Euston yesterday and it states that northbound trains on or after 0925 are "off peak" . Was this change introduced when the new timetable went into operation on 23rd May ? Are there many trains within that 20 minute window on which the restriction applies ? The first Glasgow bound train after 0905 is the 0930 so i guess it makes no difference to people travelling to Scotland but does the shifting of this period affect many trains to other destinations ? If so then it seems like a crafty revenue-increasing ploy by Virgin.

Yes, it is a discrepancy that has lasted since January,

From Lancaster north the stated restriction in The Manual is at or after 0905.

The public literature such as,

say at or after 0926.

Someone may in theory wish to travel on the 0920 to Manchester, or 0923 to Birmingham. In practical terms I always use the phrasing that the first direct train people can travel on is 0930 as it is true under both versions of restriction.

IMHO since the official restriction is still showing 0905 Virgin can't have any complaints if someone uses it after that time.

But NFM05 is out of date and is no longer valid.

NFM06 says for off peak tickets to Birmingham

Between 0926 & 1500 (inc.) andat or after 1845..........

So the Virgin information is correct.

No, it isn't. You are talking about a different range of tickets.

Tickets to Birmingham operate under 9I/2C restriction which is as you state above.

We are talking about tickets to Lancaster, Oxenholme, Penrith, Carlisle, Glasgow etc. These operate under 5F/3A restriction which continues to state,

At or after 0905

This is what contrasts with Virgin's public information. I know, I've followed it since January.
