Tonight sees the start of the 2011 NFL season as last years Super Bowl winners
the Green Bay Packers take on the New Orleans Saints.

I myself am a fan of Gang Green..the New York Jets..who hope to go a step further than the last two years and make a Super Bowl appearance.

Anyone else around here a fan of the Gridiron

Not a fan of it at all, but a big fan of Superbowl Sunday for the sheer quantity of executive jet movements it produces wherever they hold it. Despite the cold this year, the Dallas area was jam packed full of biz. Mightily impressive!

I was taking a dig at all the padding when i said 'overly protected'!
As for make up? Well when you 1- Protect yourself so much, 2- beat each other up and 3- Also go round chasing eggs, then you are obviously confused!

I would try and educate but I guess like the morality thread it would be a waste of time !!

We could say the same about you and rugby. You know, the sport that proper hard men play!

As for the morality thread. Lets not be too nasty to the OP of that thread. He had his beliefs and he stuck to them. They were well founded as well. Even if we disagree with the big about it being immoral.

People have tried to tell me how good Rugby is. But I just can't see it. Horses for courses and all that but Rugby just doesn't float my boat

But a bunch of funny looking men who wear makeup and are obviously slightly confused does float your boat? :o
I feel that song coming on. The catchy one with 3 main words!

have you played rugby !!! you don't grab anything sexual in the scrum, the nearest is when the locks grab the top of your shorts.

A lot of rugby players coming through now have not been to public school

The tradition of Rugby being posh and stuck up is not what really goes on, YES they where suits before the game and call the ref "sir" and dare not back chat him but thats a good thing I think.

Its not snobbish, my son played for Sheffield and Uni in Bucks but he aint stuck up, very grounded as most Rugby players are. They learn respect

Me thinks XCD is just trying to put us off the scent!
Rugby- Proper men that look normal, and arent a load of scared pansies!
AFL- Funny looking men that have to wear too much protection, wear makeup, and shout funny things to each other.

As for looking normal I have just been looking at the RFU website with profiles of the English team on. If normal means having no necks then yeah your probably right

Oh and by the way AFL is an Australian sport not an American one !!
