Newton le Willows Platform Extensions

Despite being started months ago, both platform extensions to the east of the station appear to have stalled. The platform edges have been completed, but the actual platform tops are unfinished, and are therefore still out of use. Has anyone any idea as to the cause of delay?

The progress has been excruciatingly slow across the board....

Lea Green seems to be done and I'm going to test it today, however it appears that TPE still don't release the reach 2 coaches doors

@The Planner commented on another thread that work had been paused because of a potential need to consider new sidings for the Parkside Development. I asked a local counselor to confirm with Network Rail and apparently, they did.
