Newton-le-willows - Holyhead

Evening all, due to a bereavement in Ireland we need to get the Mother in Law back to Ireland.

I would be very grateful If anyone could tell me the cheapest fare to Holyhead from Newton-le-Willows. Only one I could get was from national rail website for 32.50 per person return.

Anyways heres the details:

travelling on Monday 6th April:

Leaving newton le willows around 7am (for 12pm ferry from Holyhead)

Returning on the 8th April:

Ferry arrives at 4pm (So anytime after 5pm)

If you are going to Ireland it is almost always cheaper to buy a ticket to Ireland (at least to Dublin, but probably all the way to your destination) rather than split tickets at Holyhead.

An 'Economy Return' to Dublin is valid at any time and is priced at approx £54, outward portion valid for 1 day (and 1 night if necessary!) and the return portion is valid for 1 month.

In theory you are meant to get reservations for the ferry but the reality is they NEVER sell out, they may be full for vehicles but for foot passengers there is always plenty of room, and they don't mind which ferry you get, there is no need to stick to the one you book, as long as it's by the same operator.

You can choose between Stena and Irish Ferries.

Yes the ticket includes the train to Holyhead and then the ferry transfer to Ireland. If you are travelling to a destination other than Dublin you can purchase your ticket to any Irish station as well, this will be cheaper than purchasing new tickets when you arrive in Ireland so is well worth considering.
