Hi, what's the latest most possible train I can catch from Newcastle to arrive in Wolverhampton on the same day/early hours of the next day, thank you

On a weekday it's the 1935, arriving at 2335 after a change at Birmingham New Street.

Fast Journey planner gave me 1942 for 0053 for tonight, also via Brum. 2115 arriving at 0540 with 4 changes including Chester and Crewe doesn't count in my view.

Theres one at 1942 arrives Wolverhampton 0053 changing at Birmingham New Street.
Last one 2155 Newcastle changing at Manchester Piccadilly, however you have over 4 hour wait at Manchester Piccadilly for the 0511 to Wolverhampton arrives in Wolves 0638.

The 1942 only gives a connection into a Wolverhampton train from Birmingham up to and including Friday 8th December. Following the December timetable change on the 10th, the last train out of Birmingham New Street to Wolverhampton on a weekday will be the 2332 (which replaces the current 2335, and with the 0035 and 0142 not appearing in the new timetables). To get the 2332 you will need to be on the 1935 from Newcastle: the 1942 is much slower and from 10th December is due into Birmingham at 2326, so too close to 2332 for the journey planners to offer it as a connection (although you might be lucky).

2230 London Euston to Wolverhampton (9G48) and 2330 London Euston to Wolverhampton (9G49) are definitely still in the long term M-F timetable after 10th Dec, departing Birmingham New St at 0035 and 0137 respectively. They may not run every day due to engineering work.
