Newcastle to Redhill via underground?

Greetings All,

Excuse my ignorance but I have tickets from Newcastle to Redhill but this obviously means a trip on the tube Northern line to get to London Bridge. My novice question is...do the tickets I have also give me access to the tube or will I have to buy the fare when I get there?

If your ticket has a cross on it, a bit like + then yes it will include the tube journeys. If no cross, then assuming London is a valid route for the ticket, then also included.

As an alternative, you can go from St Pancras low level to London Bridge on the Thameslink, which is also included.

My ticket has a + before EC & CONNECTING under the route designator. I assume that means ok for the tube.

The available routes are:
+ANY PERMITTED
+EC & CONNECTNS
XC &CONNECTIONS

So unless you have a Cross Country Trains advance, it'll be valid on the underground

I think you'll find it easier to change from Kings Cross to St Pancras, just across the road with both step-free and rain-free access now available. Then take a train towards Brighton as far as East Croydon. Change there and the Redhill train is usually from the same platform island.

Yes, it is valid on the tube if you insist, though I would highly advise using the Thameslink route from St Pancras instead (as suggested by John @ home) .... unless you're a fan of being among a huge number of passengers crammed in like sardines into a small, enclosed space

Depends on the time of your arrival in to Kings Cross but i'd say that Victoria Line and then a semi fast service to Redhill. is a much better bet than trundling through the core on thameslink.
I'd only use Thameslink to a station which has a direct service and then not to South of Three Bridges.
If you know where you are going the tube is likely to be faster southbound as well.

I'd avoid Thameslink too, slow and very dirty. Victoria Line to Victoria as paul says. Also leave KX onto Euston Road, the main road outside the front and down to the tube through the entrance on the paved area out there - do not use the entrance jsut inside KX. If you use the one outside the Victoria line is a short walk and escalator, use the other tube entrances for a very long walk! On returning always go the rear of the platform at KX/St Pancras Victoria line, as that exit is the quickest and go to the Euston Rd exit from there. Other exits take you on a tour of the underground station!

You're over-thinking this. All you have do if using the entrance inside KX is to go left at the bottom of the steps rather than being a sheep and following the signs to go right. Then you shortly end up in the same ticket hall as the Euston Road entrances.
