Newcastle to Liverpool : Aug 2nd ... Engineering works ???

Is there anything going on, perhaps with engineering works on August 2nd (Sunday)

My wife and I are thinking about going to Liverpool, but there are no direct journeys .. usually TPE offer this service.

What would be the best option, leaving Newcastle mid-morning (say 09:30 - 11:00) and avoiding at ALL costs any CrossCountry train ?

Try selecting "fastest" not "best value" - TPE are running via the Calder Valley according to RTT, no other works shown.

I'm seeing £27.60 Advance with Railcard each so £55.20 with no split on the 11.02 TPE. I doubt that will change in your favour, and the split we offer saves about £4 each.
