Newcastle - Norwich

Via Sunderland tomorrow. Would an open ticket be valid on the GC service tomorrow afternoon. I ask as I have a friend staying tonight, however as the metros are off between Sunderland and Newcastle, it would be a hell of a lot easier for her to travel to York from Sunderland rather than get a bus replacement to Newcastle. Would there be any problems with this?

Norwich is a RP.

So no need to determine appropriate RPs.
