Corresponds with a couple of observations on Tuesday and Wednesday this week (day 1 and day 2 respectively).

And I can confirm that 158s were also working on those diagrams on Thursday.

The one that lands at Carlisle overnight goes back south on the 1st Carlisle to Leeds and the 158 on the 1819 Leeds to Carlisle is the one that starts the following morning there. Generally speaking

So does that mean the Tyne Valley and S and C are or will interwork with each other?

At the moment whilst the 158s are just random ones that are working the Tyne Valley they are getting swapped at Carlisle. Eventually Heaton will have a set allocation of 158s that are refurbished to Northern Connect standards of which 845 and 849 are and the rest will be to this standard

Thank you for all contributions. Does anyone know the Saturday diagrams, or if they're different to the weekday ones?

Ah right I see. Thanks

I'm looking at travel on this tomorrow actually so perhaps it is a question of making a request on the day.

Good morning

Is anybody able to please advise on what has been allocated to Northern 158 services from Newcastle today? Thank you!

Does anyone have a further update on 158 diagrams? I have seen a 158 on the Hartlepool service a couple of times now so I assume that there are extra diagrams than those listed above.

Quoted from a post on The Esk Valley Line Facebook page I'm an admin on.
As from May timetable change, the afternoon Whitby service and return will be booked a class 158. Also the teatime Battersby service will also be booked one too.

As well as the above it's worth noting that just as with any other unit they do end up getting swapped around if there are failures to cover for. I've seen one going to Nunthorpe before now on a diagram that would normally have a 142 on it!
