Today I had the "pleasure" of a rail replacement bus service between Newark Castle and Nottingham, on a Stagecoach double-decker (of which one wasn't enough and the lucky people who had to wait for the next one got a lot more space to themselves).
I did wonder why they ran it from Newark Castle, when considering the services on a Sunday all call at BOTH stations in Newark, why they didn't just run it from Northgate and call at Castle on the way, rather than have the train perform a reversing movement for one station.
