Newark Northgate Station dumping ground

Anyone know what this lot of metalwork in the picture is supposed to be when assembled? Its been dumped there for quite a few years now and is on the south end side of the station in the Network Rail yard along with a lot more junk.

it looks like gantries from the OHLE repair MPV trains - they may not be needed for whatever work it is currently doing.

They have been dumped there for quite a long while now and not moved as in same position every time I have been passing through Newark Station.

as i said they might not be needed for whatever projects the train is currently working on but may be needed in the future, perhaps when it comes back to ECML work.

Well if its a valuable piece of the overhead line train equipment the surely it would be better stored in a location and undercover if possible to stop it turning into a heap of rusted metal fit for scrap. Often has happened in the past something is stored like this is just dumped and along comes a new manager who has no idea what it is or does anyone else thats left know what it is and its then scrapped, only for someone to say where is all that metalwork gone out of the yard? scrap man took it away.
Seen it happen a few times essential spare parts for bridges consigned to scrap because nobody knows what they are.

Any one had any thoughts at to what this pile of metalwork is thats been dumped here for quite a long while ( could be years as not sure how long).

Kept forgetting to take a pic when I have passed it.

Been stood there now for a long while , if its a valuable piece of equipment then somewhere on Network Rail Property there must be somewhere to store it under cover don,t think its anything to do with the Overhead Line Train myself.

When all said and done its the tax payers or train passengers who had paid for it so is it an asset or a bit of scrap.

could it be that it is redundant metalwork, already recovered from the network, having served it's purpose elsewhere, and is being stored, until the price of scrap increases, thus making it's recycle value, more worthy?

Its several pieces which look as they connect together and on has an operators cab in the middle of it and its all painted white.

The problem is that the train is gathering speed going south direction and its on the lefthand side after leaving the station in the Network Rail yard at the back fence area. Also only had mobile phone with me to take the picture from the coach window.

One thing that's for sure, is that the green metal box, pictured on the left, is definately a skip...
