Newark North Gate or Newark Northgate

Northgate is one of the two stations I have been sent away from for trainspotting - the other was Derby. This was in 1972. I have however spent many miserable hours at Northgate as a consequence of Eastern Region, GNER, East Coast and LNER's lackadaisical attitude to honouring connections.

Are they okay there with spotters? Been thinking about going to station on the ECML but It’s abit of a journey to get there to find out that they don’t allow spotters

Just seen your message and I know others have replied. I was there with my son for about an hour whilst we had our dinner sat on the platform and waited for 91119. We had no issues whatsoever. The station has no barriers and decent toilets. We also spent sometime at Castle station for one of the oil trains and the 156/9's. Again no issues and a nice (in the day time) walk down by the river to get between the two stations. If you get the chance I would visit.

The chippy on Appleton Gate (couple of minutes away) is pretty decent too if you get peckish
