Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has managed to find a good viewing point for Newark Flat Crossing? I don't mind a walk.
I know there was a previous thread about this in 2017 (I think) but it didnt seem that they had managed to find somewhere.
I wondered if anyone had found a good spot since?

Thanks

There's a pallisade fence line through the trees roughly where I've drawn the line on this screenshot; while it's possible to take pictures through such fences, the angle at which you can aim the lens is very restricted and in the case of this one I suspect there is additional growth beyond the fence which would make it impossible to see the crossing itself, let alone get any photos.

I cannot see any clear possibilities while looking on Google Maps, I'm afraid.

Looks like there's a pretty good view from the bridge based on Google Maps street view (looks at the Aug 2018 snapshot and there's a train there!)

If you mean the A46 bridge, there is no safe way of getting there as the verge is narrow (bike maybe?)

I think the A46 bridge is a Clearway with no footpath. If there were easily accessible photo spots, wouldn’t there be loads of photos out on the net?

Ah, I hadn't actually checked to confirm if there was a path the whole way, I saw the bit at the bridge and just assumed it went the whole way round.
Definitely not the nicest place to walk, even cycling probably wouldn't feel safe.
