new york subway

Hi all does anyone have particular knowledge of new york subway especially the aqueduct raceway track station and when it is going to reopen?also any repair schedules and finishing times after the massive destruction of hurricane sandy

It's a heck of a low lying station on a pretty low lying embankment. Not sure about the reopening date, but I can imaging the damage being immense.

They trucked in some R32 units (minus bogies , which were then refitted) - to the now isolated section south of Howard Beach. All rolling stock was moved out before the storm. A local shuttle service has been operated , with bus links to the rest of the system.

There R32's are now to be replaced by more modern R46 sets , - hauled in by diesels , so some repair work must have been done to the damaged trestles , - though presumably not enough to run normal passenger services. Good effort all round.

thanks for all the info slightly worried about South ferry being ready for november but rockaways should be ready by then its all for an attempt on the world record over there but not until then so i just wait and see.
