Here at Railcam we are always on the lookout for new locations for webcams. If you live next to the railway and think that you could host a camera for us, please get in touch. To run a camera you must have :
- A clear view of the line from your property - we can't put cameras on Network Rail land.
- Internet access/router which must be within around 100ft of where the camera would be mounted - preferably wired. We power the cam and connect it to the internet over a single Power over Ethernet (PoE) cable.
- A good standard of broadband internet. Typically, a 2Mbit/sec connection is a minimum requirement. You would also need to have an un-capped service (no monthly up/download limits).
If you think you have all that covered, please contact us contact@railcam.org.uk
As a cam host you will get full free access to all the benefits of our VIP members, including all our Live Signalling Diagrams, Admin Only chat room and all the extra live cams.
*Admins, please feel free to move this post should it need to be in a different location.
