Just travelling to Bath for the first time in ages and there is a large works compound been set up in the old goods yard at Thingley. Anyone know what's happening?

I believe they are planning to stop trains there for the new Open Access Operator Go-Op, might be that?

Carter Jonas are currently advertising "open storage sites are available from 1-2 acres" to let on the old sidings. They date their latest update 16th December 2024, and the aerial pictures they use are evidently recent. These show some newly-built access roads, parking, and a small office and some containers: I presume this is what the OP refers to.

What is odd is that they make no mention of what is being built. My guess is that this is common services for the sites to be let - the whole area is about 16 acres by my reckoning. However, I do think it's odd that they should spend so much on this work for what is still only low-grade land use.
